Tour Guiding...

A Hungarian friend from my time in Morocco came over for a conference in the UK, so i took the opertunity to show him my country. The most important things for me to show him were:

-Pork Pies
-Pubs
-The Countryside

After this my local town and all its history, and of course Stonehenge! The Large circle of stones, which is for some reason very interesting.....

Sledging...sorta...

Hey, so my supposed adventure for today was to go to this big 'bowl' i was told about to sledge down it, roll down it, run down it, just generally go down the bank at speed, but along the way some changes were made to the plan.....

...Having watched this video, you will understand why i am so traumatised! Although, its a really nice place, which goes to show just what a few hundred bored soldiers can do...

On the bright side, i found something to do with all the apples...

...making apple jelly! Yet i sill have well over half of them left, what to do....

Apples...

So, here goes for my Second Post. I thought id start off small, just something a little bit everyday, but yet something ive always enjoyed, gathering wild foods. The order of the day was Apples as we have just run out of apple sauce, so after asking the right kind of questions to the right kind of people the best trees were quicly located.
The best place, as i was told by an elderly neighbor of mine ( who does, in there infinite wisdom, know the local area like the back of there hand ) that the small woodland pictured above (about 5 miles from my house) was the place all the true scrumpers went for there apples! And so, on returning from work, i donned my battered old trainers, grabbed an old satchel and set off....

I was only slightly concerned, when we had obviously gone off a public foot path, but was none the less detered from my mission. The was i figured it, was if an old and partially disabled person went onto someones land to 'aquire' apples, then so could I, and have a much larger chance of escape if found out. Eventually after alot of wandering around, we found the trees, and faced a new challenge, how to get the apples down...

...After reaching and jumping, we harvested only a few fully ripe apples, so i decided to climb up. Not really my wisest plan, as the branches were really close together, and not quite strong enough to hold me.To add to all that, the wind picked up, and i am terrified of hights....

...but with 9 and a half kilos of apples in the bag, it had obviously paid off. Walking back to that car i realized the real dilema......what does one do with nearly 10 Kg's of Apples.....??

Intro

Hi there,
This is my first post, so im still learning (please forgive me)! About a week ago i was having a very deep conversation with someone, about plans for the future in life, and what sort of things we would love to do. Many things came up, from travelling round the world, to going dry slope skiing. This conversation lasted throught the day and ended in the creation of my new personal philosophy. -

Do one thing New or Exciting everyday!

Not talking about daily flights to the Alps or anything (Although that would be pretty cool) but simple things like climbing a tree, going to a new place or trying something thats definitely not 'me'. To try and add a little excitement into daily life without running off and doing something over the top.

So the reason i have started this blog...I am very bad at keeping up to resolutions (as found out with many previous new year attempts) and so think if I must write up what i have done new each day, this will keep me on track. I can promise you now that i will not keep this up everyday, but if i can keep you updated, thats good enough for me!
